Abstract
The studies were carried out to evaluate the hepatotoxicities of carbon tetrachloride in rats by concurrent adminstrations of Sosiho-Tang and Inginho-Tang extracts. The restlts obtained were summarized as followes; 1) The activity of s-GOT (serum glutamic oxaloacetic transaminase) was increased by 10% CCl_4 (2.5§¢ / §¸, olive oil), but Sosiho-Tang (200§¢ / §¸) and Sosiho-Tang+Inginho-Tang (100+100§¢ / §¸, 100+200§¢ / §¸) were decreased significantly the activities of s-GOT respectively 2) The increases of s-GPT (Serum glutamic pyruvic transaminase) activity induced by 10% CCl_4 (2.5§¢ / §¸, olive oil), were significantly inhibited by the pretreatments of Sosiho-Tand (200§¢ / §¸) and Sosiho-Tang+Inginho-Tang (100+200§¢ / §¸). 3) The histological evaluations as follow ¥¡) The pattern of control group shows marked cellular infiltration around centrilobular area and fatty change of parenchymal cell around centrilobular and midzonal area. Dilation of portal vein and central vein are observed rem arkably. ¥¢) The patterns of Sosiho-Tang(200§¢/§¸), Ingingo-Tang(100§¢/§¸)+Sosiho-Tang(200§¢/ §¸) reveal mild fatty changes and swelling of parenchymalous cell. ¥£) The patterns of combined group (Sosiho-Tang 100§¢/ §¸ + Inginho-Tang 200§¢/ §¸) are shown better recovery.
